Hailstorm rushed to were he had been called.
The mission was to find survivors.
A group of giants had devastated a small town in donegal, Ireland. Their raiding party tried to kill everyone and everything in its path.
He was in charge of this small group, his own squad called the knights.
Hailstorm (Heinrich(Henry)) saw the eyes of a terrified person under the rubble.
He took his poleaxe still stained with the blood of giant and used it to heave the large burnt log up.
"You ok" he said.
"Y...yes" said the voice of a woman.
This shocked Henry for a second, as he wasn't sure of her gender or anything before lifting the log with all his might.
He reached out his hand still in gauntlet to grasp hers.
She takes his hand and he pulls her out of the rubble she was in.
He takes a long look through his visor.
She was tall, and had beautiful ginger locks with eyes as green as the Irish meadows, and despite the ash and dust her milky white skin and freckles showed through.
"Go raibh maith agat, Ridire mór" she said
"You speak Gaelic, well then. Tá fáilte romhat, bhean chóir" he replied.
She chuckles "you rolled your r, we don't do that in gaeilge, where are you from Mo ridire mór".
"I'm from America, although when I was young I lived in Denmark. The land of my forefathers."
"Sir! There are 13 causalities, 24 survivors, and 5 injured!" Says a knight with a British accent.
Ok then, identify the dead, make them graves, treat the wounded, and use the unburnt inn on the outskirts of the town as a resting place for the living. We on the other hand will set up camp a little past here.
"A dhuine uasail Ridire! please, please stay with me in my house, it's right across from the inn, it's the least I could do. Also what's you name sir knight?"
"My name is Heinrich, I'm sorry but I must stay with my squad, but I'll visit for some tea."
"Tea ha, that's a British blokes thing, here we drink whiskey."
"Well then may I ask of your name fair madam, as well as when I should come."
"My name is Somhairlín O'boyles, but you can call me Samantha, Come when you wish, I'll stay up till 10:30."
She walked off. Hailstorm checked her out, especially her thick backside without even thinking of it. He was embarrassed after wards, for he is a knight of chivalry.
Several hours later the sun started to set, and campfires lit in the hill were the knights camp is.
Hailstorm was worried they wouldn't catch the giants in time, but he knew had plenty of time.
He decided to go to the woman's house then and there.
He took his poleaxe and everything as he's a very cautious person.
When he arrived, he knocked and then took his helmet off. All his gear was on a bag around his shoulder, and his poleaxe was on his back.
She opened the door. Her eyes opened wide and shocked to see his face in the lamp light.
"Dia dhuit fair madam" he said
"Dia dhuit a dhuine uasail ridire" (hello mr. knight)
"Come inside, come inside" she exclaimed.
The house filed with the smell of potato stew, with beef and carrots.
He sniffed it in
"Mmm is that homemade stew I smell."
"Come Sit down" she said while pointing to a big comfy chair by the table.
"Here eat up" she said while handing him a bowl of the stew.
He took a bite.
He moans from how good it is "this is delicious!"
"My family recipe" she smiles. "Here would you like a piece of bread, and here here's a shot of whiskey."
He takes it all and eats.
She eats quite a bit as well. "How did you learn Gaelic?"she asked
"I went to a class while in oxford, I took because my father told me my mother was part Irish."
"O well then, why didn't your mother tell you?"
"O she died when I was 5"
"O I'm sorry I didn't mean to make things sad, let me sing a song."
She sung with the voice of an angel in beautiful Gaelic words that talked of Irelands flowing green hills, and mighty castles strong.
He couldn't help but look at her beautiful face, forgetting his worries that ate at him, he was in tranquility.
She noticed this, smiling at the end of the song.
She blushed at asked "are you a married man mr. Heinrich"
"Well no, I'm no..t"
And before he could finish not, she started to kiss him.
He was panicking, he couldn't do this, he swore an oath to wanton to adultery.
He pushed her "I can't do this, I swore an oath"
She looked at him saddened now and said "I see, it's just I've been lonely in this town, and you came YOU came and saved me. You're a brave man who fought a dragon like creature and lifted the burning pub to save me. You're so handsome sir, your face is so heroic."
"Well I can kiss you then" he kissed her on the cheek "farewell, and safe times to you"
He walked out the door.
He was 150ft away and heard her crying and turned around "what am I doing, this woman feels safe with me, I must help in some way."
He turned back and opened the door once more.
Her face stopped crying tears of sadness and she smiled.
"I knew you couldn't leave, I knew it."
